How to tie shoelaces so as not to untie? Basic lacing techniques and tricks
The problem of untied laces is faced not only by children, but also by adults. For a long time this phenomenon could not find absolutely no explanation, but still there is one assumption. Why is this happening and not to be untied? We will try to answer the questions of many people in this article.
Some actions for a person are so simple and familiar that not everyone thinks about how they are performed. Just such manipulations include the usual tying of laces on shoes, sneakers and any other footwear. With this skill no one is born. The first skills usually appear only in conscious childhood.
It would seem that it could be easier than tying shoelaces? However, modern children can not always boast such a skill. Moreover, even in adolescents this is not the first time. What can we say about a securely tightened knot! Most children prefer to shove the ribbons in their shoes and not think about how to tie the laces properly so that they are not untied. In fact, everything is very simple. There is a huge amount of different lacing techniques.
Yana's Knot is the easiest method of tying shoelaces. I came up with his Australian Jan Figen, who many consider the guru in the skill of lacing. He managed to come up with more than 30 ways to create original "patterns." Most of them look very nice and hold much stronger than the usual “Christmas tree”.
How to tie shoelaces so as not to untie in a simple and convenient way? For this you need to lace up your shoes as usual and tighten the ribbons so that their length is the same. Holding the laces with the middle, ringless finger and little finger, we form loops so that the ribbons are on the index and thumb. After that, the resulting loops are wrapped up for each other. The result should be something similar to a marine knot. The loop on the right is captured with the fingers of the left hand, and the left with the opposite hand and tighten the knot.
"Surgical knot": how to tie shoelaces?
In order not to unleash the ribbons (laces) in the process of walking, you can try to make a “surgical knot”. This method is considered the most optimal, because the knot itself is almost never untied. If you make a little effort, then in a few seconds you can dissolve it yourself. In order to make a "surgical unit" it is necessary:
- Tighten the laces first with a normal knot (wrap one another).
- On the right cord you need to make a loop, the end of which will "look" to the left.
- Stretch the second cord through the hole in the eyelet and make the same loop so that the end of the cord also “turns” to the left. The result should be two similar loops.
- Tie a bundle more tightly, pulling the laces in different directions.
We tie sneakers without knots
Sports shoes look stylish only in those cases when the laces are tied neatly and without "bows". Is it even possible to tie laces on sneakers so that they are not untied and not to use knots? Absolutely everyone will be able to cope with this task.
The easiest method is lacing with one hand. It is suitable for sports shoes, in which the holes for the laces have a small diameter. Laces are threaded into the bottom holes so that their ends are on the inside. The end of one lace is passed through the top hole on the opposite side and a small knot is made on it. The second lace you need to lace up the sneakers as a spiral. To tighten such a lacing, you only need to pull the ribbon with a bundle.
The strongest lacing
How to tie shoelaces so that they are not untied at the wrong time? To do this, you can use a scheme called "lightning." This is one of the most difficult methods and is used for treading skates, rollers. You need to start by passing the laces through the bottom holes with the ends out. Then take one end and throw it, make a loop and pull to the nearest opposite hole. Repeat the manipulation for the second ribbon.
In general, shoelaces can be used not only to fix the shoes on the foot, but also as a “highlight” to create an original image. How to tie shoelacesso as not to be untied and at the same time looked original? If the need to constantly tighten the ribbon is missing, you can use an unusual weaving in the form of a lattice.
In order to make a "grid", you need to tighten the laces in the lower holes with the ends out. Then one end is pulled into the fourth hole from the bottom. The end of the ribbon should be on the wrong side. Then it is passed through the second hole from the bottom and lead to the opposite side to the second hole from the top. After that, the string is passed through the third hole from the bottom and is led to the opposite side in order to pass through the uppermost hole. The actions are repeated in the same sequence for the second lace. In order to get the right “pattern”, you need to weave it on shoes with six holes for laces. The ribbons themselves must be long.
How to tie shoelaces so as not to untie, and the shoe itself looked neat? To give the shoe a neat look and at the same time look stylish, you can try to tie laces using the “hidden node” technique. To do this, you will need to begin to lace up the shoes from the bottom holes and take the ribbons to the wrong side. The left end of the ribbon should be slightly shorter than the right.
We draw one string into the upper hole, pull it out and thread it into the hole on the opposite side. The manipulation is repeated for the ribbon from the opposite side and so on until the end. The end of the short lace should remain inside the shoe at the level of the second hole at the top, that is, untight. A long ribbon is passed through the top holes and tied with a short cord on the wrong side.
Such a pattern looks original and neat. The disadvantages include the inconvenience of tying a knot inside the shoe and a possible feeling of discomfort when walking.
